Today in class we worked on:
5/19 – We had a super busy day in class! We reviewed our letters, we did an art project and finally our class discussed their favorite Jewish holiday. Gan – 3rd grade had Shira where we got to sing our favorite songs throughout the year. We ended our day with an all school T’fillah.

Today in class we worked on:
5/12 – We had a super busy day in class! We learned all about Israel due to Yom Haatzmaut being this past week. We also played a reviwed game covering everything we have covered this year. Morah Ari led Gan – 3rd grade in shira. Then Rabbi Prass and Morah Ari led all of Gan – 6th grade and so many parents in our Parent’s Day T’fillah.

Today in class we worked on:
5/5 – We had a super busy day in class! We continued to review our Hebrew letters by playing one of our favorite games. We read a story, and finally began to talk about Yom Haatzmaut. We had Shira with Morah Ari and T’fillah with Rabbi Prass where we got to video chat with someone who lives in Israel.

Today in class we worked on:
4/28 – We had a super busy day in class! We have offically finished learning all of our Hebrew letters, and even began to learn our vowels. We then spent time reviewing all of the letters. We also began to learn about Israel. We finished our day with t’fillah with Rabbi Prass.

Today in class we worked on:
4/14 – We had a super busy day in class! We started our day with an all school t’fillah. We then went to back to our classroom and learned one of the our last Hebrew letters, Zayin it makes a “Z” sound. Next we finished our “My Jewish Year” chapter on Passover. We then made Matza covers. We also had Shira this week.

Today in class we worked on:
4/7 – We had a super busy day in class! We started our day off with Shira by singing some of our favorite songs and also learning a few new ones about Passover coming up in just a few short weeks. We then returned to class where we learned two more letters, Vav which makes a “V” sound and Yud, which makes a “Y’ sound. We then had t’fillah with Rabbi Prass and Morah Ari. We ended our day by beginning to learn about Passover.

Today in class we worked on:
3/17 – This week we celebrated Purim. It was so nice to see everyone so festive and enjoying themselves. We started our day with a special T’fillah session with Rabbi Prass, Rabbi Bellows and Morah Ari where we sang, prayed, and heard the megillah. The class then returned backed to our room and reviewed our Hebrew letters. We ended our day with the Purim Carnival.

Today in class we worked on:
3/10 – This week was all about Purim! We started our day by going to Shira with Morah Ari. We we learned new songs about Purim and also were able to sing some of our favorites. We then went back to our classroom read a Purim story and then began to work on our posters the carnival games. We had t’fillah with Rabbi Prass and Morah Ari. We concluded our class by finishing the posters and reading from “My Jewish Year” books.

Today in class we worked on:
3/3 – We started off our day by finishing the day finishing the story about how the Hebrew langauge was developed, see if your student remembers any of the new words they learned. In Hebrew we learned three new letters, Kaf and Final Kaf both make a “k” sound. We remember Kaf because it has a Kaf drop. And Chaf which make the “ch” sound. We remember Chaf because it has a chhair ball. We read about Purim in our “My Jewish Year” books and began to work on our classrooms Purim Carnival Posters. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Prass and our madrich Matthew S.

Today in class we worked on:
2/24 – We had Shira with Gan – 3rd grade, led by Morah Ari. In Hebrew we learned 2 new letters, samech and sin both of which makes the “S” sound like in snake. We reviewed all of our letters by playing our favorite game. We also started a story about the language Hebrew, we also began to talk about Purim. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Prass and Morah Ari.

2/17 – In Hebrew we learned both 3 new letter, pay which makes a “p” sound and has a penny, fay and final fay both make a “f” sound. We reviewed all of our letters by playing our new favorite game. We also started a story about the language Hebrew. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows and Morah Ari. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari.

2/10 – In Hebrew we learned both Tsadee and Final Tsadee, both make a “ts” sound. We reviewed all of our letters by playing a new game. We also made our own kiddish cups. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Prass and Morah Ari. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
2/3 – In Hebrew we learned the letter Koof, it makes a “f” sound. We reviewed all of our letters. Read read a story. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Prass, Rabbi Bellows and the rest of the school to celebrate the fifth grade faux wedding. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari.

1/27 – In Hebrew we learned the letter Gimmel, it makes a “g” sound. We reviewed all of our letters. We also had our classes Boker B’Yachad. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Prass. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari. It was great to see so many parents and grandparents.

Today in class we worked on:
1/20 – In Hebrew we learned the letter Aleph, it does not make a sound. We reviewed all of our letters. We also began to learn about Tu B’Shivat, the birthday of the trees, we did this through a story, we also decorated plant holders. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Prass. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari.

1/19 – In Hebrew we learned the letter Hay, it makes a “h” sound and has a half space. We reviewed all of our letters to see how much we remembered. We also began to learn about Tu B’Shivat, the birthday of the trees. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Prass. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari.

12/16 – In Hebrew we learned the letter Chet, it makes a “ch” sound like in challah. We played review games and began to learn about Israel. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Prass. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari.

12/9 – In Hebrew we reviewed the letters that we have already learned. We read our My Jewish Year chapter on Hanukkah. We learned how to play driedal and had a small Hanukkah party. We also had T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari.

12/2 – In Hebrew we learned the letter vet, the letter makes the “v” sound. We started learning about Hanukkah by reading a book about the miracle. We also had an all school T’fillah with Rabbi Prass and Rabbi Bellows. Finally we had shira with Morah Ari.

11/18 – In Hebrew we learned the letter nun and final nun, each have the “n”. Ask your child the difference. We also made Hanukkah cards, and finished our day with a story. We had t’fillah with Rabbi Bellows, and Shira with Morah Ari.

11/11 – In Hebrew we learned the letter mem and final mem, each have the “m”. Ask your child the difference. We also made tzedakah boxes. We had t’fillah with Rabbi Bellows and shira with Morah Ari.

11/4- In Hebrew we learned the letter lamed, it makes a “L” sounds. We wrapped up Shabbat, and began talking about Mitzvahs. We had t’fillah with Rabbi Prass and shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
10/28 – In Hebrew we learned the letter bet, it makes a “b” sounds. We continued to talk about Shabbat. We also had t’fillah with Rabbi Prass and Morah Ari where we talked about the power of Jewish community, and how there is strength when community comes together. We finished our day with a presentation about OSRUI (www.osrui.org)

Today in class we worked on:
10/14 – We learned about Mezuzahs by reading a story and making our very own Mezuzahs. We also learned the letter Dalet which makes the “D” sound. We had T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows and Shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
10/7 – We learned the letter Resh, it makes the “R” sound. We learned about mitzvahs and how to incoorporate them into our everyday lives. We joined all of Gan – 3rd grade in T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows and Shira with Morah Ari.

 

Today in class we worked on:
9/30 – We learned the letter Shin, which makes the “sh” sound. We read the chapter on Simchat Torah in my Jewish year. We made Simchat Torah flags. We had T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows, and finally had Shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
9/23 – It was so great to have this session of religious school at the synagogue. We started the day meeting just with our classroom to collect tzedakah, attendance, and then play a name game. Secondly, all Gan – 6th grade met in the sanctuary for an all school T’fillah led by Morah Ari and Rabbi Prass. We sang, prayed, and looked around our Jewish space. After that Gan – 3rd grade rotated thru 3 stations: (a) visiting the Sukkah with Rabbi Bellows and learning about how it is built; the lulav and the Etrog (b) Ushpizin – guests for a sukkah, and an art project for inviting our own guests and (c) paper chain decoration for the CBA sukkah where we wrote what we are thankful for on some of the links of the chain. After the three rotations, all of Gan – 6th grade gathered back together for Shira led by Morah Ari and a story by Rabbi Bellows, about why it always rains on Sukkot.

 

Today in class we worked on:
9/16 – Today in class we learned the letter Tav and learned that it makes the “T” sound. We read about Rosh Hashana, and started to read about Yom Kippur. We had shira with Morah Ari, and all of Gan – 3rd grade. It was great seeing so many parents at the opening ceremony.
