Today in class we worked on:
11/11 – In Hebrew we learned the letter mem and final mem, each have the “m”. Ask your child the difference. We also made tzedakah boxes. We had t’fillah with Rabbi Bellows and shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
11/4- In Hebrew we learned the letter lamed, it makes a “L” sounds. We wrapped up Shabbat, and began talking about Mitzvahs. We had t’fillah with Rabbi Prass and shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
10/28 – In Hebrew we learned the letter bet, it makes a “b” sounds. We continued to talk about Shabbat. We also had t’fillah with Rabbi Prass and Morah Ari where we talked about the power of Jewish community, and how there is strength when community comes together. We finished our day with a presentation about OSRUI (www.osrui.org)

Today in class we worked on:
10/21 – Hebrew review by playing games. We learned about Shabbat. We had T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows and Shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
10/14 – We learned about Mezuzahs by reading a story and making our very own Mezuzahs. We also learned the letter Dalet which makes the “D” sound. We had T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows and Shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
10/7 – We learned the letter Resh, it makes the “R” sound. We learned about mitzvahs and how to incoorporate them into our everyday lives. We joined all of Gan – 3rd grade in T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows and Shira with Morah Ari.

 

Today in class we worked on:
9/30 – We learned the letter Shin, which makes the “sh” sound. We read the chapter on Simchat Torah in my Jewish year. We made Simchat Torah flags. We had T’fillah with Rabbi Bellows, and finally had Shira with Morah Ari.

Today in class we worked on:
9/23 – It was so great to have this session of religious school at the synagogue. We started the day meeting just with our classroom to collect tzedakah, attendance, and then play a name game. Secondly, all Gan – 6th grade met in the sanctuary for an all school T’fillah led by Morah Ari and Rabbi Prass. We sang, prayed, and looked around our Jewish space. After that Gan – 3rd grade rotated thru 3 stations: (a) visiting the Sukkah with Rabbi Bellows and learning about how it is built; the lulav and the Etrog (b) Ushpizin – guests for a sukkah, and an art project for inviting our own guests and (c) paper chain decoration for the CBA sukkah where we wrote what we are thankful for on some of the links of the chain. After the three rotations, all of Gan – 6th grade gathered back together for Shira led by Morah Ari and a story by Rabbi Bellows, about why it always rains on Sukkot.

 

Today in class we worked on:
9/16 – Today in class we learned the letter Tav and learned that it makes the “T” sound. We read about Rosh Hashana, and started to read about Yom Kippur. We had shira with Morah Ari, and all of Gan – 3rd grade. It was great seeing so many parents at the opening ceremony.
